HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 cc556-7W
Dr. Peters

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that Mr. E. H. W. Bartlett, of Hemingford Abbots, Huntingdonshire, formerly a temporary employé of the Huntingdon County Council, a married man who has had no civil pay for the past month owing to no authority being forthcoming from the Ministry of Transport, was before a medical board some three weeks ago after having been certified by a specialist to be unfit for service in His Majesty's Forces, and that no decision has yet been communicated to Mr. Bartlett; and will he expedite such a decision so that this man may be returned to his civilian occupation and be able to meet his financial obligations without breaking up his home?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

My hon. Friend has been asked to obtain further particulars, and, when these are available, I will make the necessary inquiries.
