asked the Minister of Labour whether he will state the total number of persons at any recent date receiving allowances from the Unemployment Assistance Board in each of the townships of Aspull, Blackrod, Hindley, Horwich and Westhoughton?

The table below shows the numbers of payments of unemployment allowances made direct through the Employment Exchanges in question during the week ended 12th May, 1939. There is no separate exchange at Blackrod.

ployment books were exchanged at Employment Exchanges at Rhondda at July, 1923, and July, 1938, and the numbers recorded as unemployed at a date in April and June of those years and in April, 1939.

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state the numbers receiving assistance from the Unemployment Assistance Board in each district, the sum paid in each district and the average payment made to each applicant in each district, during the last week of December, 1938, and at the latest convenient date?
