HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 c1272W
Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Minister of Transport what steps he has taken to sanction the joint footbridge of the Glyn Ćorrwg Urban District Council and the Great Western Railway Company at Cymmer, which has been condemned and found dangerous to the public; and what grant can be given to the urban council, as it is a distressed area?

Captain Wallace

Application has been made by the urban district council for a loan for that part of the cost of the works for which they are responsible, and the matter is now under the consideration of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health. Grants are not available from the Road Fund towards footbridges which are constructed apart from carriageways.
