HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 c1272W
Mr. Ridley

asked the Minister of Transport whether a financial agreement has now been reached between the Government and the undertakings under the control of the railway executive; if not, what are the obstacles to it; and what further steps he proposes to take to secure a settlement?

Captain Wallace

I regret that I have still nothing to add to the answer which I gave on this subject to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Abingdon (Sir R. Glyn) and the hon. Member for East Middlesbrough (Mr. Griffith) on the 22nd November.
