HC Deb 12 December 1939 vol 355 cc1046-7W
Mr. Windsor

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that certain men serving in the home defence forces have had an order read out forbidding them to communicate with their parliamentary representatives; and will he quote the authority for this proceeding?

Sir V. Warrender

The hon. Member has informed my right hon. Friend that this has occurred in one unit, but the War Office has no knowledge of it otherwise. The authorised methods by which officers and soldiers may make representations as such are laid down in the Army Act and in The King's Regulations, and other methods are forbidden.
