§ Mr. ColvilleProvision for the publication of notice of marriage at registrars' offices was made in the Marriage Notice202W (Scotland) Act, 1878, which came into operation on 1st January, 1879. I regret that the further information desired is not in the possession of the Registrar-General for Scotland and could be obtained only by calling for a special return which would involve a very considerable amount of labour.
