asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what stage the negotiations for the revision of the London Naval Treaty have now reached?

Mr. Butler:

I have been asked to reply. The escalation discussions are taking place in accordance with the procedure laid down in the London Naval Treaty of 1936, and pending their conclusion it is not possible for me to make any statement in the matter.
