§ Mr. Kennedyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that at arbitration the Kirkcaldy Town Council has been required to pay £13,270 for 67 acres of Smeaton Farm, belonging to Colonel St. Clair Oswald, and wanted as a housing site; and what was the net rateable value of this land previous to acquisition?
§ Mr. ColvilleThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, the net rateable value of the land before acquisition was £17 15s. I understand, however, that the main consideration in determining value in such cases is the annual rental, which was £156 0s. 10d.
