HC Deb 04 July 1938 vol 338 c43W
Sir P. Dawson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the event of a failure to arrive at an agreement with Germany to take over the Austrian loans, all the Governments who guaranteed capital and interest on the loans have agreed to implement their guarantees?

Sir J. Simon

I understand that all the Governments represented at the recent meeting of the Committee of Guarantor States in London indicated their readiness to implement their guarantees if called upon to do so. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of the Press communiqué which was issued by the committee after their last meeting on 11th June. Since this question was put down, the terms of the agreement reached with Germany have been announced.
