§ Sir P. SassoonGas coke is burnt in one of the grates in the Library, which has been specially adapted for the purpose. Elsewhere in the Library, and generally throughout the House, Coalite is burnt, except in the Division Lobbies, where gas coke is used. I am sure that hon. Members will agree that all possible steps should be taken to reduce the smoke nuisance in London. It is as a contribution towards this desirable object that I have made arrangements for Coalite to be used generally this winter in open fires, not only in this House, but in all Government offices in the Whitehall area.
