HC Deb 12 December 1938 vol 342 c1636W
Mr. Kelly

asked the First Commissioner of Works what progress has been made in construction of the ordnance factory at Chorley; and whether it is intended to complete it whilst the labour is available in the area?

Sir P. Sassoon

The construction of the factory is proceeding in accordance with the programme. As I said in the answer to the previous question, the number of men employed may be expected to decrease from now on until the factory is completed, but no difficulty is anticipated in retaining the necessary labour.
