HC Deb 23 November 1937 vol 329 c1053W
Mr. Day

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give the total excess of imports over exports of merchandise consigned between this country and Germany for the six months ended to the last convenient date?

Mr. Stanley

During the six months ended September, 1937, the total declared value of merchandise imported into the United Kingdom and consigned from Germany was £18,272,000, while the value of the exports, including re-exports, consigned from the United Kingdom to Germany was £15,022,000. The excess of imports was, therefore, £3,250,000.
