HC Deb 11 November 1937 vol 328 c1891W
Mr. R. Duckworth

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the decision which he has reached in connection with the cottages at Newlyn, in Cornwall, he proposes to issue a circular to all local authorities indicating that a similar policy should be afforded in similar circumstances in their areas, with a view to preventing the unnecessary demolition of houses, the owners of which are prepared to recondition them?

Sir K. Wood

I have recently communicated with local authorities with reference to the reconditioning of rural houses and I think local authorities generally appreciate their duties in this matter.
