§ Mr. Manderasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the technical advisers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force were consulted by the members of the Royal Commission on Palestine before the submission of their report?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreYes, Sir. As my Noble Friend the Secretary of State for Air has stated in another place, the Government's military advisers, in all three Services, were given an opportunity of advising on the strategic aspect of the Royal Commission's recommendations.
§ Mr. Leckieasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the fact that biased and misleading broadcasts as regards Palestine affairs are still being made in Arabic by the Italians from Bari, he will arrange with the British Broadcasting Corporation that broadcasts in the same language will be regularly made setting out the true facts as they occur?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreMy hon. Friend will have learned from the statement made by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to the House on 1st November that a news service in Arabic is going to be regularly broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation and that His Majesty's Government are confident that the Corporation may be relied upon to discharge this service with a full sense of their responsibilities and duties.
