§ Mr. Westwoodasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that railway companies refuse to accept liability for accidents to passengers travelling by train with cheap daily return tickets; that in many cases these tickets are available for return by omnibus or motor-coach and when so used liability for accidents is accepted by the companies operating the service; and will he endeavour to get the railway companies to remedy this restriction and accept liability as in the case of the road transport companies?
§ Mr. BurginI have been in communication with the railway companies, who have informed me that they are not prepared to accept this liability. I am considering what is the most useful action I can take in the matter.
