HC Deb 24 March 1937 vol 321 c2914W
Captain Cunningham-Reid

asked the Attorney-General whether he will consider representing to the competent legal or other authorities that juries, frequently called upon to serve in long cases, should be provided with some form of seat more comfortable than the present wooden benches and with some kind of desk furnished with paper and pencils to enable them to take notes?

The Attorney-General

I do not think that there are sufficient grounds for the action suggested.
