HC Deb 18 March 1937 vol 321 c2282W
Mr. R. J. Taylor

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the serious coast erosion at North Blyth; and what steps he proposes to take to remove the danger to the port of Blyth?

Mr. Runciman

I am informed that the erosion to which the hon. Member refers, which appears to be due to natural causes, takes place on private property. The question whether any action is necessary to protect the port is one for the Blyth Harbour Commissioners, and any proposals put forward by them which fall within the purview of the Board of Trade will receive sympathetic consideration.
