HC Deb 07 July 1937 vol 326 c366W
Sir G. Mitcheson

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will inquire into the growth of traffic congestion caused by undue additions to the number of one-way streets which forces vehicles to travel longer distances in order to move from point to point?

Mr. Burgin

One-way working of traffic is, in my opinion, often of advantage in urban areas. The working of one-way traffic schemes is from time to time reviewed in the light of experience, but if my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind and will let me have particulars I will gladly have special inquiry made.
