HC Deb 16 February 1937 vol 320 c1014W
Mr. Walkden

asked the Attorney-General whether any arrangements are under consideration to extend the services of His Majesty's Land Registry to cover the County of Surrey?

The Attorney-General

As I said on the 20th January, in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Lincoln (Mr. Liddall), the question of the area to which any further order extending compulsory registration of land should apply is under the constant consideration of the Lord Chancellor, and his Lordship is in consultation with the Ordnance Survey on the question as to what arrangements can be made for the preparation in the first place of the necessary maps. Until this consultation has proceeded a little further, it is not possible to consider arrangements in respect of any specific county; but if it is desired to put forward any representations on the subject of the County of Surrey in particular, they will have his Lordship's careful attention.
