HC Deb 05 July 1935 vol 303 c2138W
Dr. O'DONOVAN

asked the Home Secretary whether there is any machinery by which breaches of the Burial Acts are brought to the notice of his Department.

Sir J. SIMON

I presume my honourable Friend refers to Section 25 of the Burial Act, 1857, which prohibits the removal of human remains without either the licence of the Secretary of State or an ecclesiastical faculty. The rare cases which occur are dealt with by the police in the usual way.
