Statistics for 1933 are not yet available. The total number of persons convicted in England and Wales of offences against the Protection 1959W of Animals Acts and other statutory provisions on the same subject were, in 1931 and 1932, 2,152 and 2,137. The number sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine in each of these years was 43.
