§ Mr. McENTEEasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that on 24th March, 1924, a convict named Sheppard, serving a life sentence of penal servitude, broke away from his gang at Parkhurst convict prison and made a murderous 1960W attack on Ethel Fry, daughter of Prison-officer E. W. Fry, now retired, and afterwards violently attacked her mother who came to assist her; that Mrs. Fry has been a nervous wreck ever since and has been detained in a nursing home for many months until recently; if any of the cast of the treatment has been borne by the prison department; and what action, if any, does he purpose taking?
