asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the sum or sums paid by the Government to, and accepted by, Mr. T. B. Barrett as compensation for his wrongful conviction at Accra?

Mr. THOMAS

The sum of £10,000 has been paid by the Government of the Gold Coast to Mr. Barrett, who has accepted it as a final settlement of his case.
