HC Deb 02 March 1931 vol 249 cc54-5W
Dr. PETERS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will take steps to amend the law so that a motorist whose licence is suspended may be allowed to drive pending the hearing of an appeal against his conviction but subject to such conditions and/or undertakings as may be imposed by the convicting magistrates?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

I cannot see my way to introduce amending legislation for the purpose of allowing a motorist whose licence has been suspended to drive pending the hearing of an appeal against his conviction. I do not consider that such a course would be in the public interest.
