HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 cc1877-8W
Colonel ENGLAND

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he has considered the possibility of Government assistance to the chartering of a liner, fitting her up as a semi-permanent exhibition in all British industrial products where export trade is essential, and sending her first on an extended Empire cruise and then to foreign ports?

Mr. GILLETT

Schemes for trade ships have been submitted to the Department of Overseas Trade from time to time, and were accordingly referred to the Chelmsford Committee for their consideration.
