HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1470W
Mr. GILL

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he will give particulars of the services rendered by the Incorporated Law Society of England in return for the grant-in-aid of £1,700 made during the financial year 1928–29?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

The grant-in-aid referred to is a contribution towards the expenses of the Law Society in carrying out the disciplinary duties laid upon it by the Solicitors' Acts. The grant is made in pursuance of a resolution of the House of Commons, dated 11th May, 1897.
