HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1457W
Brigadier-General CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the damage suffered by bee-keepers from the diseases of foul brood and acarine; and whether he will impose penalties on those bee-keepers who have knowingly such diseased stocks in their possession by making these diseases notifiable?

Dr. ADDISON

My right hon. Friend is aware that damage is suffered by beekeepers in the way suggested. He understands that considerable diversity of opinion exists among bee-keepers as to what measures should be adopted, but if proposals which could be regarded as non-contentious are put forward he would be prepared to consider them.
