asked the Minister of Labour if she can give, in tabular form, the number of persons gainfully employed, at any recent convenient date, in proportion to the total estimated population of England, Scotland and Wales, and similar figures, say, for every tenth year from the Census or any other returns as far back as statistics are available?


I have been asked to reply. The fullest information which is available in reply to the question is contained in the tabular statement below. With regard to Scotland, my right hon. Friend should address a question to the Secretary of State for Scotland.
