§ Mr. NAYLORasked the President of the Board of Education whether, in view of the proposed increase in the school-leaving age and its effect upon apprenticeship, a provision will be included in the Bill to enable a child to leave immediately on reaching the prescribed age without being compelled to continue at school until the end of the term as at present?
§ Sir C. TREVELYANIn view of the educational advantages of the arrangement under which children continue in attendance at school until the end of the term, I see no sufficient ground for proposing any modification of the present law on this point when the school-leaving age is raised.
