HC Deb 15 April 1930 vol 237 c2762W
Major POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the convention in respect of pilgrim traffic approved by the International Sanitary Conference held in Paris in 1926 was signed by the representatives of India at the conference; and whether it is the intention of the Government of India eventually to ratify this convention?

Mr. BENN

Yes, Sir. The International Sanitary Convention of 1926, which contained, inter alia, provisions regulating the pilgrim traffic, was signed by a representative of India but has not yet been ratified. The Government of India hope to reach a decision shortly.
