§ Mr. FREEMANasked the Minister of Health how many prosecutions, if any, have taken place since the issue of the Order relating to the noise of road vehicles on 1st August last; whether there has been any diminution in the amount of noise as a result of such Order; whether be proposes to take any steps with regard to noises on railways, tubes, and other traffic; and what steps he proposes to take to minimise the large increase of other forms of noise not caused by traffic and not covered by any existing regulations but inimical to public health?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI am informed that in the time available it is not possible to ascertain how many prosecutions of the nature referred to have taken place. I have no power to make regulations with regard to noise in relation to railways, tubes or horse traffic. It would be difficult to frame a reply to the last part of my hon. Friend's question without some more precise indication of the forms of noise to which he refers.
