§ Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCEThe figures of actual expenditure for the last financial year are not yet available, but the total provision made in this year's Estimates for Imperial expenditure upon pensions of all kinds is approximately £122,000,000. My right hon. Friend will find details of the pensions charged on the Consolidated Fund in the finance accounts and particulars of the retired pay of officers of the various ranks and the numbers of such officers in the defence forces, in the Army, Navy and Air Force Estimates. I regret to be unable to regard as justifiable the laborious investigation which would be required to furnish the further information asked for.
