asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state why the offer made by the Straits Settlement Government of a commemorative gold medal to the late Mr. Yeo Bian Chuan for his heroic conduct in sheltering 17 Europeans at the time of the mutiny of the 5th Light Infantry (Native Regiment) in Singapore in 1915, although his compound was several times raided by the mutineers, never materialised?
