HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 c1274W
Sir F. HALL

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he will state the number of boys and girls assigned to the clerical classes in the Civil Service to date from the open competitive examination held in April, 1929; and what further number it is proposed to assign from the remaining candidates from that examination?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

The number of candidates assigned to date from the open competitive examination held in April, 1929, for the clerical classes is 302. An extension, if necessary, of the successful list down to the five-hundredth candidate in order of merit has been authorised.
