HC Deb 06 November 1929 vol 231 c1049W
Sir G. RENTOUL

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is prepared to introduce legislation for the compulsory third-party insurance of all motor vehicles?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The desirability of requiring that the driver of a motor vehicle should obtain cover against any legal liability that may attach to him in respect of the death of, or bodily injury to, another person, will be most carefully borne in mind in connection with any Road Traffic Bill which I may be in a position to present to Parliament.
