HC Deb 20 November 1928 vol 222 c1561W
Mr. CECIL WILSON

asked the Postmaster-General (1) whether any special wire between Sheffield and London has been removed; and, if so, what is the reason therefor;

(2) whether he is aware that complaints continue to be made as to telegraphic delays between Sheffield and London; and what is being done to remove the cause?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

A direct telegraph circuit between the London Stock Exchange and the Sheffield Post Office has recently been suspended because the traffic was not sufficient to warrant its continuance. I am aware that complaints of delay have been made, and the matter is under investigation and discussion with the Stock Exchange authorities.
