HC Deb 20 November 1928 vol 222 cc1565-6W
Sir P. GOFF

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department how many British concessions have been taken up in Russia; and which, if any, have been confiscated by the Soviet?

Mr. HACKING

So far as I am aware, since the War about six British companies have taken up concessions of importance in the Soviet Union. Of these, only two are believed to be in active operation at present. I have no precise information regarding the reasons for the inactivity of the others.
