HC Deb 22 May 1928 vol 217 c1711W
Mr. WELLOCK

asked the President of the Board of Trade the quantity of coal that is required to produce 1,000 bricks?

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

The quantity of coal required appears to vary considerably. A sample of the returns supplied for the 1924 Census of Production shows instances ranging from under five cwts. of coal per 1,000 bricks made, to over 15 cwts. per 1,000 bricks.
