HC Deb 21 May 1928 vol 217 cc1516-7W
Mr. KELLY

asked the Minister of Labour why his Department has ceased to pay unemployment benefit to Michael Cosgrave, of 4, Longholme, Rochdale, see- ing the Ministry of Health refuses to accept Mr. Cosgrave as being 65 years of age for the receipt of an old age pension?

Mr. BETTERTON

Information about the claimant's age supplied by his approved society raised a doubt as to his eligibility for unemployment benefit. It has now, however, been ascertained definitely that he is not yet 65 years of age and instructions have been given for payment of unemployment benefit to be resumed.
