asked the Minister of Health the amount expended for the year 1926–27 by the West Ham Board of Guardians on elections, stationery, postages, and luncheons, respectively?

The amounts expended by the West Ham Board of Guardians on the purposes stated, in the years 1926 and 1927 are as follow:

asked the Minister of Health the amount spent on luncheons by the West Ham elected guardians during the last year they held office?

asked the Minister of Health the total cost charged to the account of the West Ham Union for free lunches supplied to the former members of the West Ham Board of Guardians attending general board and committee meetings for the years ending March, 1924, 1925 and 1926?

I am informed that the amounts expended by the West Ham Board of Guardians on luncheons during the years ended March, 1924, 1925 and 1926, were £282 16s. 6d., £305 15s. 5d., and £666 13s. 7½d., respectively.

asked the Minister of Health the amount of the surcharge made by the Government auditor for luncheons supplied to the members of the deposed West Ham Board of Guardians whilst attending general board and committee meetings, for the financial years ending March, 1924, 1925 and 1926; and whether the amount of the surcharge has been liquidated?

Surcharges of £171 and £110 in respect of luncheons were made in the accounts for the half-years ended March, 1919, and September, 1921. The sums surcharged were not met by the persons surcharged. No surcharges were made in the financial years referred to in the question.
