Mr. LANSBURY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether His Majesty's Government accept in principle the resolution accepted by the Government of India in 1926 that the Indian delegation to the League of Nations should be led by an Indian; and whether it, is the intention of the Government to give effect to this resolution when appointing future delegations?

My Noble Friend and the Government of India have never accepted and are not prepared to accept any resolution which would limit their discretion in choosing the India.; delegation for the Assembly of the League of Nations. The composition of this year's delegation is under consideration and will be announced in due course.
