HC Deb 11 April 1928 vol 162 cc1240-1W
Lieut. - General Sir A. HUNTER-WESTON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, whether he can inform the House if the railway companies concerned have reduced the Scottish rates for local traffic (Classes 1 to 5) in the same proportion as the English rates have been red aced?

Colonel ASHLEY

The railway rates for traffic in Classes 1 to 5 passing between stations in Scotland have not been reduced in the same proportion as the reductions made in railway rates for traffics in those classes between stations in England and Wales and between stations in England or Wales and Scotland. It is understood that the railway companies have this question under review at. the present time.
