HC Deb 22 November 1927 vol 210 c1632W
Colonel DAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that on several cross-Channel steamships there are no explanations or illustrations in the cabins showing the method of adjusting life-jackets in case of emergency; and will he take steps to advise all owners of these vessels of the importance of carrying out the Regulations as revised in 1926?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

I am informed that in all cross-Channel passenger steamers instructions as to the method of adjusting lifejackets are exhibited, either in the cabins or in the saloons, passages or other public places. If the hon. Member will give me particulars of any case in which the provision made is, in his opinion, inadequate, I will inquire into it.
