§ Mr. BARNESasked the Secretary for Mines the consumption of domestic coal per head of the population in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the years 1924, 1925 and 1926, respectively?
§ Colonel LANE FOXIt is not possible to give precise figures of the consumption of domestic coal in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but on such information as is obtainable by my Department it is estimated that such consumption amounted to about 18 cwts. per head of population in each of the years 1924 and 1925. I regret that a similar estimate in respect of the year 1926 is impracticable owing to the effects of the stoppage.
