HC Deb 16 November 1927 vol 210 cc1054-5W
Sir J. NALL

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he has any information regarding the present condition of the ancient pavements at Bignor; whether they are scheduled under the Ancient Monuments Act, 1913; and, if not, whether they can be so scheduled?

Sir V. HENDERSON (for The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS)

I am informed that the pavements are much in need of repair, but that it would be both difficult and expensive to repair them. The pavements are not scheduled, but they probably will be in due course. I should point out, however, that scheduling would not have the effect of bringing them under the care of the Department.
