Duchess of ATHOLLThe average number of children in attendance at public elementary schools in England and Wales for the quarter ended 31st December, 1926, was 5,005,376. The number estimated for 1927–28 is 4,980,000. As regards the second part of the question, my right hon. Friend would refer the hon. Member to page 26 of the published Estimates of the Board for the year ending the 31st March, 1928.
