The following are the figures at quarterly intervals for 1926. The earlier figures will be found on pages 54 to 73 of the Eighteenth Abstract of Labour Statistics of the United Kingdom (Cmd. 2740)

Way of manual labour. Moreover, owing to a change in the basis of classification and in the statistical grouping of indus tries introduced in June, 1923, the figures from that date onwards are not strictly comparable with those for earlier periods.
