asked the Minister of Labour the total number of men. women, and young people, respectively, registered at the Walworth Road (Borough) Employment Exchange on the last convenient date, together with the figures for the corresponding date last year

Mr. BETTERTON

On the 7th February, 1927, there were 6,142 men, 1,577 women and 808 juveniles on the registers of the Borough Employment Exchange. The corresponding figures for 8th February, 1926, were 5,934 men, 1,627 women and 645 juveniles.

The number of vacancies filled through the instrumentality of the Borough Employment Exchange in the period 5th January, 1926, to 20th December, 1926, was 11,083, of which 3,528 were filled by men, 2,080 by women and 5,475 by juveniles.
