HC Deb 21 December 1927 vol 212 cc425-6W
Mr. PONSONBY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has received a letter submitted to the Chief Native Commissioner in Kenya by the Kikuyu Central Association, expressing the desire of the native population to retain direct control by the Colonial Office; and, if not, whether, in view of the importance and difficulty of ascertaining native opinion on this question, he will take steps to obtain this letter and give it his consideration?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

No, Sir. The subject comes within the reference of the East Africa Commission who will no doubt take such representations into account before making their recommendations.
