§ Mr. SCURRasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information with regard to the appointment of a local commission in British Guiana for the purpose of reducing the status of British Guiana to 242W that of a Crown Colony; and, if so, under what authority has the Commission been appointed?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI would refer the hon. Member to the Report of the local Commission which has been published as a Command Paper (Cmd. 2985), and which states that the Commission was appointed by the Governor on the instructions of the Secretary of State.
